Sustainability
Keeping our Personnel Safe
The safety of our personnel is of utmost importance. All our employees are equipped with the appropriate protection gear, are regularly informed about our risk assessment, control and prevention measures and receive training concerning potential health hazards. To ensure compliance with our health and safety objectives, an emergency management and quality assurance team monitors and evaluates the personnel’s understanding, response and practice at regular intervals throughout the year.
Reducing our Environmental Impact
Our chemistry is responsible. We perform all our operations with extreme diligence and have established clear and manageable policies to minimize our environmental footprint. We have internal procedures, evaluation and monitoring measures to control our consumption of resources and ensure the safe disposal of our residual waste. Dedicated teams ensure compliance with internal and national regulations at all levels of operations, from supply and use of energy, water and laboratory consumables, disposal of organic solvent fumes and residues, chemical and water waste to office consumables and printing paper. All our operations are audited by external accredited organisations in a timely fashion.
Making Sustainable Chemistry
VIO Chemicals is a member of the Swiss Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry (SusChem Switzerland). SusChem is a joint industry and academic initiative supported by the European Commission that aims to revitalize and inspire European chemistry and biotechnology research, development and innovation in a sustainable way. As a member of SusChem, VIO Chemicals gains access to a broad European collaborative network of knowledge and competence and commits to contributing to the creation of a dynamic innovation and sustainable industrial eco-system.
